Job Description

Are you an experienced, creative and forward-thinking developer who loves to write quality code and is adept at reacting to business needs and demands?

The role

Working in our conveniently situated Bristol city centre office, you will quickly become a key member of our enthusiastic, fast-paced and compact team who are involved in the development of internal systems as well as external systems such as NEWT and ActionPlan+, our quality improvement tracking software for customers in the education sector.

You will also contribute to the exciting development of Equip which is used for Tribal's Management Training Business, NCETM and Middle East projects. This is a product where you will have the opportunity to bring your expertise to the table to help shape its development, bringing in new technologies where appropriate.

Using aspects of Scrum methodology, you will be involved in activities including the analysis, design, development, maintenance, administration, reporting, testing and support of our information system software.

The person

It goes without saying that you will have a good technical background with commercial experience of working on a Microsoft .Net stack with a focus on C# and MVC. Your experience of Java, JSP, SQL server will also be beneficial.

With a sound working knowledge of design principles, frameworks, patterns and multi-tiered architecture, you will also bring with you an aptitude for problem-solving and a natural curiosity for how things work and how they can be improved.

Experience of code quality and version control activities is required as is experience of Unit and Coverage Testing.

You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively and clearly explain things in a way which is easily understood by others.

You will have strong analytical skills with a knack for assessing requirements and translating them into product specifications and tests and the ability to plan and prioritise tasks whilst working to deadlines and producing output of the highest quality.
